What’s on the Lesson Plan?

One thing you learn when you go to college is that every new semester seems to be like a different stage or time in life; each stage with different lessons, difficulties, enjoyments, and events than the last one. Even though this semester is similar in many aspects to my last (I’m an RA, an upperclassmen, I’m taking lots of units, there are tons of events, etc.), this semester seems completely different. We’ve already had some great hall events, like “Week of Champions” and others, and the semester’s already been really busy. I remember talking to a friend of mine last spring semester, and she said that it seemed like every semester she’s been at Vanguard there was a certain lesson God was trying to teach her. Now I don’t know if this is true for everyone, but it has definitely been true for me. In fact, it has become something for me to both reflect on and look forward to. In respect to this, last semester was filled with learning a lot about leadership in my new job as an RA and the beauty and healing that God gives us when living in real, deep, and healthy relationships with each other, even though those relationships can take a lot of work and humility.

Here’s a picture of me with my fellow RA’s. I love these people:

This semester seems so much more busy and tiring. I have my capstone class, where I will complete my senior project, 4 very difficult, senior level, kinesiology courses, on top of a lot of different projects and random things. I’m not sure what God has in store for me this semester, but I can already tell that it’s going to be really good, really different, and a great time for me to grow.
